According to the meaning in Indo-aryan languages, Upeksha refers to indifference, no attachment, non-pocessiveness or no special preference. Upeksha tea is produced by the Nilmini Estate (Pvt) Ltd, to meet these characters. The estate is located in southern Sri Lanka adjacent to the Sinharaja rainforest nature reserve. The crop is cultivated around elevation of 200-300 meter. above the mean sea level.
The Upeksha tea is one of the unique organic teas produced in Nilmini Estate (Pvt.) Ltd. in harmony with nature. In producing the Upeksha tea the estate established a new tradition.
